Kasa-Obake
Kasa-Obake
Kasa-obake is one of the more playful and mischievous umbrella tsukumogami. Collectively tsukumogami are yokai that were once normal objects that after some time has attained a spirit or kami. In the case of Kasa-obake, they are tsukumogami yokai that were once normal Chinese-style oiled paper umbrellas. They usually have one huge eye, one or two legs, and a long dangling tongue. Kasa-obake love playing pranks on humans, specifically sneaking up on their unsuspecting victims and giving them a big, oily lick with their incredibly elongated tongues before hopping away wildly
